Sampling as an art: Sub Focus, Chase & Status and more

Сегодня в нашей рубрике — наиболее ранний материал от известных танцевальных исполнителей: Pendulum, DJ Fresh, Sub Focus, Chase & Status и Sigma. Без сюрпризов и странностей снова не обошлось…

Артисты, о которых мы рассказываем на этой неделе, по большей части сэмплили другую музыку, и они делали это красиво. Sub Focus заимствовал звуки у исполнителей самых разных жанров, таких как Daft Punk, Nirvana или композитор Vangelis. В треке «Take Me Away» от Chase & Status можно услышать RnB-вокал, а их коммерчески успешный тюн «Duppy Man» базируется на треке от дансхолл-артиста Capleton. А Pendulum выделяются своими сэмплами из драматических фильмов/сериалов: например, в треке «Toxic Shock» звучит речь одного из персонажей «Армагеддона». И, что забавно, песню в «Through the Loop» поёт Вилли Вонка из классического фильма 1971 года… Но по-настоящему нас удивил DJ Fresh со своим треком «Gatekeeper»: Дэн использовал в треке реплику героя из… семейного телешоу!
